FAQs
Firstly, we recommend getting in touch with us to arrange a personal tour of the nursery. You can easily fill out a contact form here. During the visit, our management team will provide a guided tour tailored to your questions and needs, ensuring you get a full sense of our nurturing environment.
We encourage you to bring your child along for the tour as well—this helps them become familiar with the setting and often makes settling in much easier (and sometimes they don’t want to leave!). To secure your child’s place, a registration fee is payable following the tour. This fee confirms your spot with us.
Once secured, we’ll arrange settling-in sessions designed to help your child transition smoothly into their new routine. After these sessions, we’ll provide you with the registration forms to complete the enrolment process.
Each Nursery is divided into three distinct rooms: Baby Room (0–2 years), Toddler Room (2–3 years), and Preschool Room (3–5 years). The rooms and equipment are designed to reflect the child’s age and stage of development.
At Raising Explorers Nursery, we keep you informed through quick updates at drop-off and pick-up, sharing how your child has been and what activities they have enjoyed. We also maintain personalised learning journals or digital profiles that track their progress and milestones.
Additionally, we share photos and highlights via secure apps or newsletters. If you ever have any questions, our team is always happy to chat.
Our fees vary depending on your child’s age, the number of days or sessions they attend, and whether you are using any funded hours.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information, please contact us directly. We’ll be happy to talk you through the options and help find a plan that suits your family.
Yes, a £50 deposit is required to secure your child’s place at Raising Explorers Nursery. This contributes towards your application pack, administration, and settling-in sessions. It helps us prepare everything your child needs for a smooth and happy start.
Yes, fees still apply if your child is absent due to illness, holidays, or other reasons. This is because your child’s place is reserved for them, and staffing and resources remain in place to ensure continuity of care.
To help your child feel comfortable and ready for their day, please bring:
A change of clothes (including socks and underwear)
Nappies, wipes, and creams (if needed)
A labelled water bottle
Seasonal clothing – for example, a coat, wellies, sun hat, or sun cream depending on the weather
A comforter or dummy, if your child uses one
Please label all items with your child’s name. If you’re unsure, just ask a member of the team – we’re happy to help!
Our nursery is open Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Standard nursery hours are covered within your regular fees, and extended hours are available at an additional cost to give families greater flexibility.
Government funded hours can be used during term time (over 38 weeks) or stretched across the year (over 52 weeks). Subject to availability, parents can select the days and sessions they require for their funded hours.
We offer 15 and 30 hours of free Nursery education for eligible 9 months, 2, 3, and 4 year olds.
If your child attends more than the funded hours, all year round and is also entitled to government funding, we deduct the funding to provide parents with a discounted and equal monthly fee.
Over 12 years we have listened to parents and mastered what we feel works best for parents / carers and also the children in our care.
Our nursery environment both indoor and outdoor is carefully planned to a high standard with copious amounts of space for each child’s age and stage of development.
We go above and beyond, providing a high quality service where your child is cared for and nurtured in a safe and stimulating environment.
We value parent partnership, getting to know the parents and involving them in their child’s nursery life. We have regular events where we invite parents into nursery such as stay and plays, mothers day breakfast, fathers day tea and fun charity events.
Our fees are competitive and fully inclusive.
We like the children to experience the community and wider world around them. Each term we plan trips to enhance children’s development, experiences and interests. For example we may visit a farm, aquarium, Tropical world, soft play centre or go on a local outing to the park, library or shop. Parents will always be notified of any planned trips.

A key person is a dedicated member of staff assigned to your child to help them feel safe, secure, and supported at nursery. This person builds a strong bond with your child, gets to know their likes, needs, and routines, and acts as your main point of contact.
They also track your child’s development, update their learning journal, and work closely with you to support their progress. This key person approach helps children settle more quickly and feel confident during their time at Nursery.
